Fashionista! Completed #25

I successfully made my own dress! I won't say that it was the best-fitting dress, or the dress with the straightest hems, but it was totally wearable.

The ribbon at the waist was supposed to cover the crooked seam between the bodice and skirt, but alas!- it was so crooked that even the ribbon couldn't hide it. I think it turned out well for my first try though.

I've also been busy making birthday cards, but they have all been hand delivered, so this post is quite late.

So, in chronological order...Happy birthday to Hailey!

Happy birthday to Dahlia!
...and happy birthday to Gail!

I'm a rugged maniac.

I've been diligently working on my list, but not diligently updating my blog. Two more completed! Saturday, I ran in the Rugged Maniac 5k with Whitney and Brian, completing #16. Here is an after picture:
After two washings, my shirt is still that color, but totally worth it. I have also somehow managed to complete #49 (starting work has probably helped this) and have successfully gotten out of bed before 9AM 31 days in a row. Going to bed before midnight is still a challenge on the weekends though.

Happy early Earth Day! Working on #72...

This weekend, a few of the old Girl Scouts did the Great American Clean-up and picked up 5 bags of trash and 2 of recyclables! One of the more interesting finds was a pile of coins where it looked like someone had busted their piggy bank open.

Also, I've been looking over my list to get some things done and realized that to read 250 books, I would have to read 1 every 4 days. The non-fiction books are taking me longer to read, mostly because I have to re-read a lot of passages to make sure I'm not missing anything. I'm reading The Omnivore's Dilemma right now, and it's really changing my whole view of eating and 'organic'. I'm nearly finished with it, and the next non-fiction on my list is about the extravagance in spending for American weddings. A subject that is rather near to my heart, but a viewpoint I'm not used to seeing. I'm very excited to approach wedding design from a new angle and maybe learn a few things I can use in the future.
